1. Introduction
Welcome to TutorPe — a B2B Micro-SaaS application (tutorpe.in) designed exclusively for small tuition centers and home tutors in India. It helps them manage monthly student fees and send fee reminder messages to parents via WhatsApp.
We are committed to protecting your personal information in compliance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and global best practices.
By using TutorPe, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our service.
a) From Tutors (Our Registered Users)
When you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive from Google and store:
Full Name — used as your institute name by default
Email Address — used for account identification and support
Google Profile Picture — displayed in your dashboard
b) From Students (Entered by Tutors)
Tutors manually enter student records. This includes:
Student's Name
Parent's Phone Number (10-digit Indian mobile number)
Batch or Class Name
Monthly Fee Amount
Fee Due Date
Important: Student data is entered solely by the tutor. TutorPe never collects data from parents directly.
We do not collect location data, biometric data, financial account information, or attendance data.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes only:
Account Management: To create and manage your tutor account.
Core Service: To display your student list, track fee due dates, and show overdue alerts on your dashboard.
WhatsApp Reminder Links: Parent phone numbers are used to generate a pre-filled wa.me link on your device. When you tap "Send Reminder," it opens WhatsApp on your phone with a pre-written message. TutorPe does not send automated messages from our servers.
Payment Records: To generate and display payment history for your records.
Customer Support: To respond to your queries submitted via the in-app feedback form.
AI Message Generation (optional): When you tap "AI Suggest," we send minimal context to our AI provider — such as student first name, fee amount, days overdue, and message tone — to generate a WhatsApp reminder draft. You review and send the message yourself; TutorPe does not message parents on your behalf.
Fee Intelligence AI (automatic): On your dashboard, we may send anonymized summary stats (overdue counts, at-risk counts, first names only) to our AI provider to generate a short chase-plan insight. This is cached, uses no user AI credits, and does not include parent phone numbers.
4. 🔒 Our No-Data-Selling Guarantee
We will NEVER sell, rent, or share your data.
TutorPe does not sell, rent, license, or share your personal data or your students' data with any third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing agencies — ever. Your data is your property.
We only share data with trusted service providers who help us operate TutorPe, and only to the extent necessary:
Google Firebase (Google LLC): Our database and authentication provider. Data is stored in encrypted, access-controlled cloud databases.
Vercel Inc.: Our web application hosting provider.
Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd.: Our payment gateway for subscription payments. We share only the minimum information required to process a transaction.
Sarvam AI (Sarvam AI Pvt. Ltd.): Our AI provider for optional WhatsApp reminder drafts. When you use AI features, we send only the minimum context needed (e.g. student first name, fee amount, overdue days) — not full phone numbers. Processing occurs on Sarvam's India-hosted infrastructure. We do not use your data to train public AI models.
5. Data Security
Encryption in Transit: All data is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
Encryption at Rest: Data is stored in Google Firebase, which encrypts data at rest by default.
Access Control: Strict Firestore Security Rules ensure each tutor can only access their own data. No tutor can view another tutor's records.
Authentication: We use Google OAuth 2.0 — we never store your password.
No Analytics on Student Data: We do not pass any student information to analytics tools.
6. Data Retention
Active Accounts: Your profile, student records, and payment history are retained as long as you are a registered user.
After Account Deletion: Upon your request, all data — including your profile, all student records, and all payment history — will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
7. Your Rights (Under DPDP Act 2023)
As a Data Principal under India's DPDP Act, 2023, you have the following rights:
Right to Access: Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Correction: Update or correct your personal information directly within app settings or by contacting us.
Right to Erasure: Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@tutorpe.in with the subject "Account Deletion Request".
Right to Grievance Redressal: Contact our Data Protection Officer (see Section 11) for any grievance regarding your data.
Right to Nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
We will respond to all requests within 72 hours on business days.
8. Cookies & Local Storage
Authentication Tokens: Firebase Auth stores a session token in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in.
Offline Cache (IndexedDB): To enable offline support, your student and fee data is cached locally on your device using IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device unless you are online and syncing with our servers.
We do not use any third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
TutorPe's service is directed at tuition center owners and home tutors (adults). We do not directly collect any data from children. While tutors enter student names into the platform, this is done under the tutor's account and responsibility. Tutors are advised to obtain appropriate consent from parents or guardians before adding student information to the platform.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you via email or an in-app banner. Your continued use of TutorPe after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
