Tuition Fees Overdue: Who Should You Chase First? (Fee Intelligence Guide)

9 August 20267 min readby TutorPe Team

Month start. Dashboard shows 7 students overdue. Three also skipped class. You pick up the phone — but who first?

Every coaching owner hits this question. A register doesn't answer it. Excel rarely has a formula for it. That's why we built Fee Intelligence — a free dashboard card that tells you who to chase first, using fees and attendance together.

Overdue fees — priority order (even on a notebook)

If you're still on paper, use this order:

  1. 30+ days overdue and still attending — call first. Highest chance of payment.
  2. At-risk — fees pending + 2+ absents in the last 14 days. Call now, or you may lose the student.
  3. Due this week — send a polite reminder before it becomes overdue.
  4. Long absent + overdue — last priority. Recover active students first.

What Fee Intelligence does

On the TutorPe dashboard, the Fee Intelligence card shows:

  • 🔴 Urgent overdue count (30+ days)
  • 🟡 Due this week count
  • ⚠️ At-risk — fees + attendance pattern
  • 🎯 Chase first — top 3 student names ranked
  • AI insight — two short sentences (cached, free)

Important: Fee Intelligence uses none of your AI message credits. The 20/month credits are only for the ✨ WhatsApp message writer.

Example: Sharma Classes, 85 students

1 August — 6 overdue. Fee Intelligence says chase Verma (38 days) and Patel (absent 3× + 12 days overdue) first. Insight: call Verma — they're still attending. Call Patel's family before WhatsApp.

Six reminders in about 12 minutes. ₹14,500 collected by the 5th. That used to take two days.
